Large fields are expected on Saturday afternoon at Fairhall when Cuddon Cycling Marlborough’s riders compete in the Fairweathers Winter series for the Funnell Trophy and James Bros Trophy. The Open grade 41.3km handicap event for the Funnell Trophy starts and finishes at Fairhall Hall covering two laps of the large Hawkesbury circuit and one lap of the small Hawkesbury circuit. After a close battle for time amongst the back markers last week, Sean O’Neill emerges as the favourite contender with his main competition coming from Nick Batt, Ray Dunstan and Andrew Jamieson. The junior under 17 grade will compete in a 22km massed start/sealed handicap event for the James Bros. Trophy. Callum Caughey will be favoured to take time over Christopher Grammer.
All riders are to assemble at the Fairhall Hall at 1pm for a 1.30pm start.
