New Course For Henderson TT

Cuddon Cycling Marlborough’s riders will compete in the Henderson Bros. Cups and Dooley Cup time trial events from Renwick tomorrow afternoon.
The open grade Henderson Bros. Cups event is usually ridden on a 51.5km undulating course from Renwick to Havelock and return, but due to a concern for safety, the event will be trialled on a course up the Northbank Road and return. Interest will be focussed on the clash between the top three riders Ray Dunstan, Josh Scott and Jeremy McKenzie. Six weeks ago Dunstan rode to victory in the 40km Vincent Cup event on the Waihopai course, by 27 seconds over Scott. McKenzie’s strong performances of late could also put him in the picture for a strong challenge. The sealed handicap cup will also be closely contested with each rider trying to better their expected times.
The junior under 17 grade riders will compete in the Dooley Cup 16km time trial also over a new course on the Northbank Road. A good battle for the cup between is expected between Quinn Karwowski, who won the last time trial, and Callum Saunders .
All riders are to assemble at Forrest Estate Winery, State Highway 1, Renwick at 1pm for a 1.30pm start.
