Winter Racing Gets Underway At Renwick.

 

Cuddon Cycling Marlborough start
their winter racing programme from Forrest Estate Winery at Renwick tomorrow
afternoon.
The open grade 32km handicap event
for the Vincent Shield is raced over 4 laps of a circuit covering Condors Bend,
Bedford Road, State Highway 63, Anglesea Street, Boyce Street, State Highway 6.
The fast circuit always provides close racing amongst the handicap bunches on
opening day. Fastest time honours is likely to be fought out between scratch
markers Ray Dunstan, Andrew Jamieson, Jeremy McKenzie, Josh Scott and Conway
Taylor.
The junior under 17 grade will
compete in a 16km handicap event over two laps of the course for the Opening Day
Cup. Callum Saunders and Quinn Karwowski will battle for time honours with their
main competition coming from Nick Blakiston and Will Hart. Provision will also
be made for any new riders wanting to ride the shorter distance.
All riders are to assemble at Forrest
Estate Winery at 1pm for a 1.30pm start.
