A large field is expected for Cuddon Cycling Marlborough’s prestigious Anderson Rosebowl event from Okaramio to Havelock and return tomorrow afternoon.
The 35km open grade handicap event over the windy and undulating course was first ridden for in 1953. Past winners competing tomorrow include Gill Painter (1965, 1969), Graham Henderson (1972), Todd Neal (1999, 2009), Warren Hall (2003) and Stuart Curnow (2010). Scratch marker Conway Taylor will be out to repeat his fastest time honours against co-markers Gerard van Antwerpen, Tony Catterick and Andrew Jamieson.
The junior under 17 grade will compete over 18km in a handicap event on the Northbank Road for the Keighley Cup. Nick Blakiston will be after a repeat performance of last years win with his main competition coming from Callum saunders, Quinn Karwowski and Will Hart.
All riders are to assemble at their venue (Open grade- Okaramio Tavern. Junior under 17 grade- 1km up Northbank Road) at 1pm for a 1.30pm start.
