A consistent ride saw Conway Taylor win Cuddon Cycling Marlborough’s Henderson Bros. Cups time trial from Renwick last saturday afternoon.
The open grade 51 km time trial event covered a course from Forrest Estate Winery to Havelock and return. The riders struggled through strong head winds on the outward journey but were rewarded with a quick ride home. Taylor was in full control and recorded a winning time of 1hr 16m 20s to head off Gerard van Antwerpen (1hr 19m 07s) and Andrew Jamieson (1hr 23m 12s). The handicap trophy went to Lisa McManaway (25m) by 55 seconds to Lee Griggs (14m) and another 5 seconds back to Van Antwerpen (7m) in third place.
