Cuddon Cycling Marlborough’s open grade riders will complete the winter road season with the Henderson Bros. Cups time trial event from Renwick tomorrow afternoon.
The Henderson Bros. Cups event was postponed in September due to extremely gusty winds on the 51.5km undulating course from Renwick to Havelock and return. Interest will still be focussed on the clash between the top three riders Ray Dunstan, Conway Taylor and Jono Lee. Dunstan should still be in reasonably good form after returning recently from the World Masters Championships in Austria where he was placed 14th in the time trial in the 50-54yrs age group. The up and coming youngster Lee will be pushing for his second time trial win this season after defeating Taylor 2 months ago in the 40km Vincent Cup event on the Waihopai course. The longer course will probably favour the two older riders, Dunstan and Taylor. The sealed handicap cup will also be closely contested with each rider trying to better their expected times.
All riders are to assemble at Forrest Estate Winery, State Highway 1, Renwick at 1pm for a 1.30pm start.
