Cuddon Cycling Marlborough’s riders will compete in the Vincent Cup and Verhey Cup time trial event on the Waihopai Valley Road tomorrow afternoon.
The open grade 40km event follows a rolling course from Grove Mill Winery to just beyond Craiglochart and return. Conway Taylor will be favorite to win with his main competition, last years winner Ray Dunstan, currently overseas. Taylor should record a time of around 57 minutes. Interest will also be focussed on the performances of Jono Lee, Chris Heywood and Gerard van Antwerpen who should fight out the minor plaacings. The Verhey Cup will go to the best performance on handicap.
The junior under 17 grade will compete in a 16km time trial to the Spy Base and return. Callum Saunders will be favoured for time over Brody Catterick and Will Hart.
All riders are to assemble opposite the Grove Mill Winery in Waihopai Road at 1pm for a 1.30pm start.
