Cuddon Cycling Marlborough’s riders continue with the final two stages of the Curtis Piper Memorial 4 stage event at Renwick tomorrow afternoon.
The open grade start off with a 5km hill climb time trial on the Delta Lake road. This stage will be vital to the top riders with only 16 seconds separating the first 6 riders on general classification. With the leading rider Adam Tyney away max Pendleton will be fighting off a strong challenge from Antony Clark and Grant Ludemann. the final 50km stage starts at the Delta Road up to the Wairau Valley township and returns to finish down Conders Bend Road via Bedford Road. This stage also has 3 sprint time bonuses which keeps the leading riders attentive. The handicap section is presently beig led by Mike McManaway from Mike Murphy and Craig Murphy.
The junior under 17 grade will commence with a 3km hill time trial and finish with a 20km stage. Will Hart and Nick Blakiston are the leading conteners on time and handicap respectively.
Any riders that did not compete last week and want a ride this week will be catered for. All riders are to assemble at Forrest Estate Winery at 1pm sharp for a 1.30pm start.
