Three records toppled at Cuddon Cycling Marlborough’s Cycle World time trial No3 at Fairhall last Wednesday evening.
The 15.2 km event on the New Renwick Road/Godfreys Road out and return course drew a good field with almost perfect conditions. A close tussle amongst the top riders saw Jono Lee record a personal best of 20m 54s to head off newcomer to Blenheim Tom Franciss (20m 56s) and ray Dunstan (21m 09s). Fourth place and humming along was National club time trial champion Bronwen Frazer (21m 38s) who broke her own Womens record, set just 2 weeks ago, by an amazing 1m 01s. Martin Fletcher (22m 32s) lowered his own 55yrs+ record set last February by 16s, whilst Rhonda Murphy (23m 41s) broke her own Womens 35-44yrs record set 4 weeks ago by 12s. The sealed handicap went to Joe Blakiston by just 2 seconds to Stuart Curnow with Andrew Curnow another 9 seconds back in third place.
