Conway Taylor again showed the way with a fine win to remain unbeaten in Cuddon Cycling Marlborough’s Bike HQ Summernite Road Series No3 on Wednesday evening.
Stage one was an 11km stage from Wither Hills Winery to the top of Bookers Rd (off Brancott Rd). The majority of the field remained together to the last climb with George Baxter taking line honours with the same time as Taylor. Jamie Kidd was third 13 seconds back.
Stage two over 13km followed a course back into Godfreys Road and then returned to Wither Hills Winery. Thirteen riders lined up for the sprint finish with Taylor just heading off Brent Ackroyd with Glen Herkt third. The first stage winner Baxter was unlucky and retired with mechanical trouble.
The overall result saw Taylor win by 18 seconds over Kidd with another 7 seconds back to Josh Roach. The overall sealed handicap result went to Max Pendleton by a clear margin of 37 seconds to Rhonda Murphy and another 12 seconds back to Chris Ireland.
