Tough conditions with a blustery north west wind saw Gerard van Antwerpen come through the field tonight.
Last Mondays track night saw Glen Herkt in good form to take two firsts and a third placing. Nick Batt had a good win in the 8000m with an excellent ride from Katie Batt for second place.
The 11th race of the Cuddon Cycling Marlborough winter / spring series was held last Saturday on the Northbank Road. The Henderson Brothers and Dooley Cups were up for grabs in time trial races over 51km (30 miles) and 16km (10 miles). A strong headwind on the way out made it tough for the riders, but is was the return journey that made the biggest differences.
Martin Fletcher and Dylan Hodson proved a successful combination in the 2-up time trial run by Cuddon Cycling Marlborough on Saturday in the 9th race of the winter / spring series. The 40km event for the Geddes Memorial Cups was run up the Wairau Valley and return.
Cuddon Marlborough Cycling winter/spring series continued on Saterday with graded races being held on the small Lower Wairau circuit, with laps of 7km length.
Due to the small numbers of riders available, the A and B grades were combined, to make as sizable field. Sunny, cool conditions, with a strong cold south east wind blowing across the exposed parts of the circuit made it hard for the riders to try solo escapes.
